I would go swimming in this lagoon, to the horror of my mother, after school when I was a kid. I lived only a couple of blocks from it, so you could say it was our community pool. The city decided to pump trash into it and it is now a cocktail of germs. My guess is that it was the same during my childhood, so I am lucky not to have an eye growing on my back.
