Very rare fall bird in this part of the country, well almost any part of the country except the northeast!
When Jeff first found the bird, the very straight and long bill had hopes of a mega in Black-tailed Godwit until the black underwings were finally seen several hours later.
This bird was quite distant the whole time we were there, together with bad light didn't do much for these images. For some better looks of similar birds, I had 3 birds in west TN a couple of Septembers ago, see here: http://www.pbase.com/mctodd/fall_hudsonian_godwits
