Definitely a good omen when I pull up on Mud Island and Jeff has 14 Avocets in his scope, even if they were 3/4 mile away! This is the most I've seen in TN since the mid-80's when we had 20+ on Island 13 one fine fall day. There were also 13 Avocets at Benwood Lake in AR, where we had the Eurasian Wigeon later in the afternoon.
