We lucked up on a pair of these very local Tangara tanagers, and it was a frantic minute or so until every one of us finally laid eyes on one.
These are quite distant, but luckily about eye level as we looked into the top of a tree across a ravine. I can find very few shots of these birds online anywhere, so am pretty stoked to have gotten as good a shots as I did. The very unusual shade of blue was even more distinctive than I had imagined.
