It took us four hours to locate the Snowy Owl, when it just materialized on top of the ridgeline. We were several hundred yards away, so no real chance at a decent shot, and the shimmer was terrible! But, all had great looks through the spotting scopes, including many locals who stopped just to see what was so interesting out in the middle of that big field.
