On Jan 9, 1965 the side of a mountain roared down on the Hope - Princeton highway. 47 million cu meters (16.59 million cu ft) of debris covered the valley floor to a thickness of 85 meters (278 ft) for 3km (1.8 miles) of the highway. Nature is taking back the barren land and new growth is visible in the photo.
