In Venezia in August, "Al Ponte" was closed each time we walked past so we had to have our glass at one of the other bars a few doors down. But there a few establishments, even in Venezia, that are as classic as this one.

A wonderful image - the red boards of the shop creating a bright frame within the frame. An interesting front, the ship, the crooked notice, the small potted plant alone on the barrel, and indeed the curious message (for the location)..just visible on the left.
