Dry Land

When we walk up our road and hit the shore, we can either turn left or right.
Left takes us down a cul de sac with a handful of houses.
It's the way we usually walk when we've got Fudge as it's the quieter of the two roads.
Today, as I walked Fudge, the bay was cloaked in mist, the sea calm and mirror- like and the air echoed to the calls of thousands of feeding waterfowl.
I hurried home, got the camera and drove back up the road, turning right this time.
Tide and time wait for no man, so unfortunately the tide had gone out in that short space of time, revealing the mudflats.

Quite a striking scene -- that boat so belongs in the water instead of on land. Excellent capture; glad you drove back there to catch it. V.

Wonderful photo of this old trawler with this diffused lighting and all the seabirds. "V"

I think this makes a more interesting image with the boat solidly on land. Love the colors and softness. V.

I know that sea birds have a habit of following trawlers in the hope of a free feed, but I think that they may be disappointed here. Nonetheless the presence of the birds in the frame add something to the image, almost serving as a frame for the boat even though they're on only two of the four sides. The superstructure is well maintained but the hull does indeed look like it could do with some TLC, which is I would hope the reason for it being on the dry land of the title.
