A Hero Is Laid To Rest

The funeral of murdered Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe took place in Dundalk today.
It was an emotional occasion, attended by his family, colleagues, neighbours, the President, many dignitaries, and over 3,000 gardai.
In a powerful eulogy, the priest paid tribute to the father of two who
was shot during a raid at a Credit Union last Friday.
He appealed for anyone with information about the killers to come forward and made a passionate appeal for gardai to be given the resources they need as they combat evil on a daily basis.

Nicely documented. It is very sad that these events occur.

a well caught moment...he was still relatively young too...alas the life of a police officer can be a dangerous one, particularly with so many hard men still about..

I'm sure this was a very moving experience for everyone in the town. A sad loss, I feel for his family, his children. I hope they catch the murderer. V

The saddest part is that this is repeated over and over in every country. What's wrong with people?

Such a sad and moving image. It saddens me when I think about how many evil people there are in the world...
May this man RIP and his family find comfort in the days and years to come.

So sorry to hear about this tragic event. I don't understand the world today. A somber but well taken image.

And sorry, I meant tragic.

The turnout of so many people should send a strong message.

A very moving image; I'm glad you were there. I searched for some articles on this and really, what a trafic waste of life, and for what?

Such a sad and unnecessary loss of life. I hope they find those who killed him and that their punishment is strong. Nobody should lose their life by doing their job.
