Whoever said nostalgia isn't what it used to be is wrong!
A new Facebook page about Dundalk in the '80s has almost a 1,000 'likes' in the space of a few days.
It sent me rummaging to see if I could find any old photos or tickets from gigs which I would have gone to during that time.
One of the few benefits of working on a local paper was that I often got free tickets to gigs.
I came across this ticket and some photos I took when The Boss played Slane in 1985 as well as a guest pass to David Bowie's Glass Spider tour two years later.
I also saw The Stones and Bob Dylan at Slane, but if I'm to be honest I can't remember a lot about the concerts (and no, not because I drank too much!).
In truth, I found those big concerts just too big to be memorable with the musicians appearing as tiny dots on the stage.
It's the gigs in smaller venues I remember - John Martyn, Josh Ritter, Ron Sexsmith, Christy Moore, Moving Hearts and countless Irish bands.
