Andy Irvine

We went to see the legendary Andy Irvine in Dundalk's Spirit Store on Saturday night.
Andy was a member of some of the biggest bands in the Irish folk/trad scene during the 60s, 70s, & 80s such as Sweeney's Men, Planxty, and Patrick Street.
He is also an accomplished solo performer, and at 70 years of age, his voice has lost none of its beauty.

A man who has given much pleasure to many, and like Christine, I remember his concerts fondly.

He's got a lovely stash of instrument surrounding him too, looks pretty good for a 70 year older, eh! v

Wow, Andy Irvine! I still have some of the Planxty LPs and I saw them perform several times back when. I really enjoy his singing. Lucky you to see him, and good to know he is still going strong. Superb shot, too! VV

a gem of a musician whom I have caught live solo, with Patrick Street, and with Mozaik..trust you enjoyed the concert..great tones and pulse to your image..

Nicely done. I know that it most likely wasn't by design but the V-like shape from the instruments standing at a leaning angle brings the attention back onto the central subject. (Also his own leaning angle makes the shot more dynamic.) For a 70 year old a B&W shot is pretty apt, and he stands out well from the plain back background.
