Please, can I go out to play?

Ok, I think I've posted a similar pic to this before but Toffee looked so
wistful that I couldn't resist taking his photo.
Most of the time he seems happy with his lot as an indoor cat. He moves
around the house from one favourite spot to another, sleeping on beds
and chairs, enjoying the warmth of the fishtank, soaking up the sunlight
and watching the world go by from the window.
The only time he seems to want out is when we're playing with Fudge
in the garden.

Poor Toffee, left behind... my cats do this too. It tugs at my heart and then I try to make it up them with a good brushing and treat. V

Wonderfully expressive. I have seen this look before on our indoor cat too. Sometimes we feel guilty that we are limiting her freedom but the shelter vet told us that indoor cats live longer and healthier, also coyotes have been spotted in our neighboorhood.

I think you're misreading the expression; remember that he's a cat. It's more likely "Let me out hoomin, or teh curtains get clawed." (But it's a cute shot anyway.)

You could take him out on a leash. We do that with our indoor cats. Cats do too much damage to the bird population to let them run loose, Doug. ;-) Very cute photo! V
