I had read about the controversial Metropol Parasol before
going to Seville but hadn't been prepared for the jaw-dropping
beauty of this fantastic creation. Like a series of giant fungi
it towers above one of the main plazas in the centre of Seville.
When we visited the lower level had been taken over by the
Indignados or youth protests which are occupying the
main squares of cities throughout the country in protest
at government policy on a host of issues from a crackdown
on free internet downloading to its handling of the economy.
