Postcard View

This is the postcard view of Carlingford, the one taken by the thousands of visitors who flock to this
pretty seaside village every year. It's not a particularly imaginative composition but I was a bit of a day tripper
myself yesterday, in the company of others, so I didn't have time to seek out a more compelling view. Or
perhaps I've just seen it too many times.

a straight up view yes, nevertheless attractive and effective, showing the castle in the context of it's contemporary surroundings..V

It's a delight for one who has never seen it. Those boats provide such a nice spot of color.

It does have that "postcard prettiness", though postcards themselves are probably an endangered species. When I think that I've seen a place too many times it serves as a reminder that I need to find the time to really just sit and look at it for a spell before shooting it again. Now to find the time to DO that...

I for one think this is absolutely gorgeous!!! BV

And it´s views, not virews. LOL!
Ulla Inkeri Huhta09-May-2011 21:30
Some virews just can´t look better ;o) Well, maybe in sunrise or sunset or in a sunbeam with "biblical" stormclouds as backdrop...
That´s a very impressive ruin!
