The harvest is ripening

It's been a strange sort of day, heavy showers, warm, humid, sticky,
and then, just at the end of the day, sunshine.
As I was busy puppy proofing the kitchen in advance of the
arrival of Fudge tomorrow, I just went for a quick walk up
the road this evening. There were lots of little insects
swarming, much to the delight of the swallows. Hopefully
they were vegetarians.

"Fudge"? Seriously? He'll probably just tell the other dogs that it's hoomin-speak for "The Destroyer". I really like this one, but then I'm partial to sunlit ground / darkened sky shots. I like the single red poppy; the whole arrangement (rustic scene, dark sky, splash of red) comes off as being in the style of John Constable.
