On Saturday the Irish Times carried an article about the Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry at Queen's University, Belfast. The poem in the left margin goes back to the 9th century. It is written in Old Irish, and we do not know who the poet is. Many Irish writers have come back to this poem, including Heaney himself, Ciaran Carson, John Hewitt, John Montague,Thomas Kinsella and Frank O'Connor
