Did the Irish government ever hear of the word, "discrimination" ?

Governments always pick on the weak voices...I'm sick of the money people of this world stuffing up, then leaving the working man/woman to carry the burden into their old age.

Scandalous! - Whatever will they do with us lot if we are lucky enough to reach 70? I really dread to think.

A timely shot and tribute to the spirit of our senior citizens who have
rightly protested against this unfair proposal.

that's a scandal...but economists say, this is the way the world will go... what a crazy world we live in!!!

Yvonne is right, governments are like insurance companies, they're keen enough to take your money but they don't like giving anything back!

How very sad. Governments all over the world are feeling the same economic pinch. If our elected officials had to live on the same incomes that our old folk do there would be no question about provided medical care!

Almost like they are of no use anymore....not right! They are our history, our wisdom, without them we wouldn't be here. Someone needs to wake up. This is almost like genocide....you don't work so you can't get any help so therefore you should just die and go away. So, evidently, the government folks aren't ever going to get old??? I say we cherish our elders and treat them with the respect, love and help they deserve. They've paid their dues, why on earth would anyone want to cut that off? This just makes me angry. Not at you, my dear, but the way government sees things...we need less government and have more say as a people because the majority would not agree with what government does. It should be working for the people, not against them.

Pure materialism, if not to say cynicism. Great to make this your entry, Maire!

How terrible, just when they oldies need some help, and after all the years they've
paid their taxes!

I do wish our society would make more moves towards cherishing our older people, they really do have so much to offer, if only we'd take the time.......

This is a lovely candid, they're enjoying their stroll I'm sure!!
