Locomotive #1073 is located in Watson Park in downtown Lawrence, Kansas. The locomotive was built in 1902 and hauled freight. The City Parks and Recreation Dept fills in the low area by the train in cold winters to create the skating pond. It took six hours to fill up and a couple days to freeze solid. The greatest depth of the skating pond is about 1 foot.
