These actually were used on many high peaks in their day as they worked a bit better an altitude near freezing than at sea level. Backpackers of the day learned to " Sleep" with their stove in the bags to keep butane above freezing, They work great on a freeze canister ,but but on a cold morning with a 2/3 empty one , were the pits......
