Some things on the trail have changed very little in nearly 30 years. The Seiad Valley Store in one of them that has sold pop and beer to hikers in 70,s 80's, 90's and even today. Home of the Pancake challenge.

I was a kid in Seiad in 1977...my stepdad helped build the PCT near Grider Creek, as well as some sections in southern Cali. My mom operated the Seiad Valley Cafe in the late 70's & early 80's. I'm so happy you have pictures of Seiad from 'back in the day'!

The gas pump is gone, and the store has been repainted. Otherwise, you wouldn't notice any difference in 2006!! This is only 20 miles away from me!! Great shot! http://www.pbase.com/losthiker/image/64799052
