For whatever reason, the glaciers are melting off in most our mountains. This is a photo of Nisqually Glacier which use to flow right to the bridge shown here in 1914. Actually the Glacier receded 4,500 ft. from 1857 to 1951. It's been "retreating " here since the "white Men " first came to the mountain and is still going on today ,,no greater or lesser than the receding has been since the early 1900's..
