This pack was the most popular pack on the PCT in 77 as well as on the AT and CDT. Dick Kelty was the " Hand's On guy with each poduct till he sold his company in 1982. ( The new packs are nothing like the " Made In USA" packs Dick had. ( Sad Note as Dick Kelty passed away in 2004 at age 84)
just bought a pack identical to this at a second hand shop yesterday in Tacoma, Washington. Am amazed to find out how good they really are and to find out it's older than me. Can't wait to use it.

WOW! I watched my dad's old green Tioga bob and weave for several thousand miles as I followed him all over the United States through incredible scenery while we built memories. I like the picture of this one - lovingly used. Ring pins bent, stains, field repairs and all! Awesome!
This is THE pack I would have given my left n*t for in the 70's - when I bought my first adult pack it had to be a Kelty. I still have a 70's era Kelty down parka that's in pretty good shape.
