Unlit, Embury " Air Pilot No.# 2 Lantern " ( Made In Warsaw New York )

These were made between 1939 -1953 when the Embury Lantern Co. folded and sold out to Dietz,, who then moved the manerfactering to Mexico in 1956 and then to Hong Kong in 1982. This is a " Cold Flame Design which is twice as bright as Hot Flame Designs. ( Never use "ANYTHING " that says 99% or 100% parafin as you will only ruin your wick. Best to use LampLight Farms Standard Kerosene which is clear or K-1,, or ALdadin Lamp Oil, or best of all is a Kerosene subsitute called Klean Heat,, which has no oder at all. ) These lanterns were made of tin , but in WWII shortages of tin made them use " Terne " plated steel which needed to be painted to last outdoors. This one I believe was made during or after the war. Special thanks to fellow hiker and good friend " Katy Warner " for donating this wonderful lantern to me!!! It's never been lit,,and I won't . Only damage is a mouse chewed on price tags years ago, and maybe some thing spilled on it.. ( Made In Warsaw New York...

It is a beautifully designed lantern in the classic style.
