No beard gallery worth it's salt would be without a photo of John Tornow know as " Wild Man Of The Wynochee ".. The shot is of him dead at age 33 killed in a shoot out . He reportedly killed 6 people who came looking for him . At 6 ft. 4 inch ,, he was a mountain of a man and many thought he was an " Ape Man " living in the wilds of the Olympic Rain Forest. A few good books are out on his life . Basicly all he wanted was to be left alone and live in the wilds. He even had 1,700.00 in the bank in Montesano which he never used and owned a large chunk of timber. The sad photo in from a postcard from 1913 of his body... He was a " Wild Man " in the truest sense,,,,,
