ON way up Mt. Rainier July 1981. On this climb ,we got to share the summit with American Hero " Jim Whitaker " who was the first American and 5 ever to reach the top of Mt. Everest. Big thrill for me to summit this peak for my first time . ( LIke having Joe Namath show up at your " Super Bowl Party " to climb the Mountain with him.. Mike Kitchen was a local carpenter in my home town.
