Hair light boom

After several years of "planning" (spelled P R O C R A S T I N A T I O N), I finally got around to building it.
Without a real studio and with limited storage space, I wanted a fully functional boom hair light that was lightweight but sturdy,
and that took the smallest amount of storage space possible. Also, it had to be CHEAP.

Ugly? You bet! Fine woodworking this is not. If you want to see some better quality woodworking,

Functional? Absolutely.

Expensive? Well, depends on what you consider expensive and on how much junk you have lying around your workshop.
Mine cost me a grand capital outlay of $2.68, for an 8 ft spruce 2 x 2. The rest was stuff that I had waiting to decide
what it wanted it to be, some of which has taken decades to make the decision. I can pretty much guarantee that even if you
have to purchase every component, it will still cost you at least an order of magnitude less than a commercial unit.

Over the next little while, I'll be adding to this gallery various close-ups, instructions, and helpful hints in case you want
to make one for yourself. Stay tuned.
