EVERYWHERE A SIGN

Sugar Land, Texas

Everywhere a sign that our World is getting smaller and smaller.
We are more diverse than ever.
My town in Texas is located in Fort Bend County, which was named the most ethnically and racially diverse
county in the United States. We have equal numbers of White, Black, Asian, and Hispanic residents.
We see signs in many languages.
Sugar Land, my town, is predominately Asian.
In fact, Sugar Land homes are advertised in many countries on the other side of the Pacific.

#14 for the October Scavenger Hunt

In all kinds of languages.....signs, they're everywhere!

Wonderful catch. Interesting information on your town.

Interesting perspective on life in Sugar Land, Lynn. I would have assumed that the ethnic diversity would be slanted more towards Hispanic than Asian. Such is the global economy, and truly the basis for the melting pot that is America.

Sweet sweet Sugar :-)

They do say that variety is the spice of life though the need to speak more than one language will help no end I'm sure!.

Yes, rules and instructions in so many languages now

great that the sign is in different languages, it shows respect for the other one
wernere0116-Oct-2013 05:57
Seems there are further informations in the language I can´t read. Probably the advice is more polite.

A sign of the times.

It is certainly a sign of how small the world is now.
If you need to fill an NHS form in online, it can be translated into 50 languages....I've just looked it up!

Thanks for sharing, Lynn ...... I had no idea. That's a cool sign, but does it take that many characters to say "No Trespassing"
Jackdad15-Oct-2013 17:55
'Go away' in two languages.
Faye White15-Oct-2013 15:08
Sounds like you live in a cool place! (what Walter said - lol) What was the 'no trespassing' protecting?
Walter Otto Koenig15-Oct-2013 14:36
Sounds like you live in a cool place. I always liked the national motto of Indonesia: "Unity through Diversity".

That really is a sign of diversity! V
