I finally finished the encyclopeadia entry that I was due to submit on 24 June (2005, that is). Getting that monkey off my back made me feel better about not working in the evening... Gavin and I had plans: we decided that we would spend almost three hours of our life in the company of fellow photographers. Our minds were made up... we were going to attend the meeting of the camera club now that it has reopened following the summer break. We were treated to a slideshow of the club president's Greek holiday snaps... complete with Greek musical accompaniment. Later we were shown another slideshow - this time digitally created - of a trip to the Orkney Isles and yet another of paintings by Lowrie (who painted matchstalk men and matchstalk cats and dogs, apparently). A thoroughly enthralling evening was had by someone, somewhere, but not by me: I was bored rigid. I'll tell you one thing, though, it has at least done some good - for now I realise that perhaps I am not too bad a photographer after all! While the evening was less than a success, I am not quite ready to give up on them, and will be at their next meeting next Monday. It can't possibly get any worse now. Can it?
