Rocky Shore

Taken near a public boat landing in a local park.

Composite image of two exposures. The background is the bottom layer taken with a long exposure to produce highlights on the shore. The second top image is a much shorter exposure to capture details in the sky blown out during the foreground exposure.

In photoshop I used the erase tool set to a medium sized "soft" brush and deleted the foreground to expose the proper highlights in the underlayer.

Exif data is of the foreground exposure which is the bottom layer.

Canon EOS 20D ,Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM
1/4s f/16.0 at 25.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Very nice, I even think the bottom half works on its own, lovely tone.

Damn, very nice. Great idea and perfectly executed. It helps that the raw image(s) is very good, but your blending of the two exposures results in something that doesn't even look out of place.
