I remember coming home from night work at canning town glass. as I drove passed the mechanics there were still people drinking as it was the last time of opening!

My Mother and stepfather ran the Mechanic's Arms during the 1950's,We have very fond memories of visiting Sheerness during that time.

My grandfather, Edgar Wood, was the manager of Lipton's Grocery in the '30s to '60s (when last I returned, it was a travel agents!) and he used to slip out at lunchtime and have his 'lunch' here.
