Hi Vicki I have a photo taken of me inside the pub not long before it closed. Have lots of memories of visiting Grandad and Grandma Wheatley when they had it, Their boxer dogs used to scare the life out of me!! Love to everyone in Oz, Geoff

I am the granddaughter of Walter & Barbara Nokes (nee Wheatley) who came to Australia when my Mum Marilyn was 7 years old. This was My great great grandfather's 'public house'. We reside in Western Australia and I am in the process of compiling our family tree. Seeing this picture was fantastic. This and other photos in the collection have bought back wonderful memories for my Mum and given me a visual to the stories she has told me. I would love to contact any relative or residents who have stories or photos of the Nokes & Wheatley Families. Vicki White
I used to frequent the 'True Brit' in the late 1950's with a friend, Alan Drew. It was full of antiques and served all its beer in china tankards. In 2002, I tried to make a return visit but the noise from within was so deafening that I did not make it to the door. I fear that it has changed!
