My father, Roland Gardner, was named after Abbies father who was killed by the Indians on Pillsbury Point, His grandmother, Martha Gates was friends thru church with Abbie Gardner one of two survivors of the Massacre, He lived at Gateswood which was across 71 from Reds. He met my Mother there when she came to Boji with her girlfriends in 1930.She came several years and they Married in 1944. Both of their parents were against the marriage because he wasn't a Catholic and she wasn't a Quaker. They married when he then went to Europe and flew 33 combat missions in a B-24 over Germany.Reds was their favorite hangout.
