Small pond in Southern NH

I have experimented here and there with Black and white landscapes
but giving that there have been so many masters of the form that exceed
my skill so far beyond words, I have not liked anything I have done.
But having said that I thot this one was not too bad

Excellent shot! great reflection!

I think I agree with Felicia ... bit more contrast perhaps!
I love the composition ... and the reflection of teh clouds on the water. This has your wonderful gentle touch about it! You do have a way and an eye!

I like it but I'd bump up the contrast a bit...take my opinion for what it's worth.

You did good Larry. More, please.

Beautiful scene. Excellent toning and nice composition.

Don't sell yourself short. This is a great landscape! I'd use a curve to bring up the contrast in both the foreground and the sky just a tad.

Keep it up! If you have ready access to scenes like this, you really should pursue some landscapes. Catch those magic hours at dawn and dusk if you can. Take a tripod and try some double exposures. Landscapes are great because you don't have to stress out about the subject; it's not going anywhere.

Really nice.. I'd only selectively bring up the contrast on the rocks in the foreground to give them more presence..

Like this one - (Have had similar experiences with B/W using a digital camera, hardly ever like my results. Think it is much more difficult to visualize what a shot might look like in black and white.)

Really nice composition you have here, looks might fine in monochrome

It's beautiful.

the reflected clouds work really well in b&w.

Beautiful b&w Larry - so serene!

This is excellent, Larry. Great contrasts.

Not too bad at all. Without the distractions of color I have to work hard on composition and values. The colors distract me both when I look through the lens and when I'm looking at a photo I'm trying to work on. This one is nice.

Beautiful photo with nice reflection.

Yet another I could just get lost in.
katwilkens15-Aug-2004 12:16
It's nice. Reminds me of landscape shots in photo albums from the 1930s and 40s.

Very beautiful, I just love the reflections from the clouds in the water.... Brilliant!
Lori Rolfe15-Aug-2004 12:06
reflection from the clouds is nice and the branches on the top half of the image lead your eye to the focal point of the back of the pond..... very nice
Chris15-Aug-2004 12:05
I like it, too. CH
