Colt .45 Caliber Government Model MSP Commemorative

In 1978 Colt Industries produced a limited number of this
weapon to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Michigan
State Police. It came with a walnut fitted presentation case
with a scrolled plate affixed to the top with the following
inscription: "Michigan State Police 1917-1977. 60th Anniversary".
The Michigan State Police shield appears in the center of the plate.

This gun has never been fired.

I also own one of these and I contacted the Colt Historian who advised that all of these 60th anniversary 45s were fired at the factory to ensure they were operationally safe prior to being shipped out.

Dick, I have one of these and I'm looking to sell it. Just like yours new in box/never fired. Can you give me an idea of what to ask for it? I'm thinking $1000.00. Man is that nice. I'm a Michigan State Trooper and I would love to own this piece but my current financial situation (plus my wife being a part of this situation) just makes it a dream !!!
