1981 Schwinn Voyageur 11.8 Restoration

I added 700c wheels with Campy hubs, 5speed freewheel, Campy Rally der, Campy front der and shifters. I replaced the original 7/8 fork with a 1" fork and longer stem, Cinelli 64 bar, and Modolo levers. A Brooks 15 saddle and Campy seatpost replaced the old crappy seat. I kept the Universal brakes, and Sugino crank, and pedals. The bike rides much better than expected, almost on a par with my Paramounts.

Question for you - I recently bought the same frame and had my local bike shop attempt to do a full parts swap with my old Campy parts but they said there were compatability issues with all but the rear derailer. I'd love to get the Campy stuff on their if possible. Any thoughts?

i bought a v-11.8, chromed, chrome-moly 66mm w/ the same maxy crank you have.
at the time, it had the tallest headset i'd ever seen. it came from a member of a 501(c) 3 in detroit(now called: thehub.org), as a frame and fork w/crank for $100.00 .
it had all the original stickers and decals incl: the paper factory inspection sticker on the left drop-out.. all perfect, but for a tiny scratch on the left v-ger. i hand built it into the finest, most ridable, and to me; the most beautiful fixxy i could imagine.
52 : 13 : 27 in. w/ the 42 ring, left in for bling. old-school dina-compe front caliper w/
tire release, ajusted as parking brake, mated to o-s dina compe straight handle lever.
no stand or rear brake. i could go on... 2 years ago, while riding on belle isle, with no other car on the road, but one oncoming, this driver crossed 4 lanes of (non) traffic to run me down, hit & run. the v-ger and i were pretsels, me for over 8 months
i'm not ok, but i still ride. i built a 68mm panther and painted it color-change red-blue,
i shaved the cable brase-ons off the top bar. it's too tall to stop...so i don't(mostly).
sorry, i don't mean to ramble. you have a nice bike there. i like the pump, nice touch. i'm looking for a 66mm v-ger 11.8 in chrome. good cond. will consider 64mm.
anyone?
