Reinhold has hiked the 210 miles of the Muir Trail in record time. Starting at the summit of Mt Whitney in 2004 at the age of 63, he hiked the trail northbound in 5 days 7 hours 45 minutes, and carried all the food and gear he needed to make it to Yosemite Valley. It took me 17 days to cover the same distance going southward. He's an amazing trail spirit, and I am most fortunate to have met him first in his true habitat following the path he has carved in his image.
