Now that I had an Observatory capable of being partially automated I needed the power to do so - I
thought that solar power was the answer, but be warned it is not as easy as you think. The initial setup was 2 x 24volt 190 watt panels and 4 deep cycle batteries giving 100 amp hours at 24 volts.

It proved to be hopelessly inadequate - if you are considering Solar Power investigate your options very carefully - Solar Power is expensive and you don't get a lot for your money.

Up till now I was using a 6.5KVA Petrol Generator, also an expensive option but one that did give more power than I required.
