Arch Circumnavigation, Part 5: "Rest Break Blob"

After reaching the top of a sandstone plateau (end of previous gallery) I walked to its high point, which was situated directly north of Delicate Arch. This point, which appears on the map as "Rest break blob," was shaped like an oblong muffin with a long side facing the arch. The shape of the rock enabled me to lean back as if on a chaise lounge. There I lingered for a while, eating, taking pictures, and watching the up-and-down parade of hikers on the Delicate Arch Trail. Occasionally I heard a hiker's voice; one said "How did he get over THERE?"
