View of Delicate Arch area from the park road (2006-1027_9403)

THE ORIGINAL-SIZE IMAGE SHOWS DETAILS, INCLUDING LABELS

This view shows the area that was my intended goal for this hike. The red sand by the road covered the road during the storm (about a week earlier) and was later plowed. Red traffic cones line the road where the sand is piled up.

All the labeled places in the photo above appear in this WikiMapia aerial view. The camera's position was at the loop parking lot in the lower left portion of the image (the lot and its short access road look like an inverted noose).

Camera to Delicate Arch: 3.4 mi (5.5 km)
Camera to DA Viewpoint: 3.2 mi (5 km)
Delicare Arch to DA Viewpoint: 1 mi (1.6 km)

Dan---I guess you are not a person who believes that one should "go with the flow."
Even so, I'm glad that you found relief.

I had diorama once but thanks to pepto-bismal I'm ok now....

One more thing, just thinking, can you give some idea about distances. Like how far from Delicate Arch to the viewpoint. The more I look at it the more it gies an illusion of one of those museum dioramas.

Nice Annotation. At first I thought this was the view through a cyborg's eyes.
