My route went from the white dot (at right) to the black dot (at left)

San Rafael Reef, Utah

Between the site of this photo and the black dot I traveled mostly over bare rock (probably
sandstone), with brief forays through two or three small gardens containing cryptobiotic soil. The
brown slope at lower right was dirt covered with a layer of thin, broken shale-like plates that made
weird sounds when stepped on. Being able to see the route ahead with such clarity is fantastic.

Great work, Dave. Incredible, really. Voted.
Nice color photo explained with black and white.

Though I get high on sandstone, I do not inhale. That depends, of course, on the definition of "get."

I make weird sounds when stepped on too.
There's nothing wrong with getting a little high on sandstone, it's all natural. Remember, it's not how much you use, it's how it affects your political or entertainment career.

That's right, Dan---I got high on sandstone again.

Good pano. Even with those 2 dust spots on your sensor it's a good shot.

Just under a mile.

What's the distance between dots, as the crow flies?
