Storm coming...

Near Delicate Arch Viewpoint (Arches National Park)

The weather so far had been fair-to-good, so this view to the southwest was not
welcome. Naturally I hoped that the storm would finish dumping its rain before
reaching me. In the spirit of "what the heck!" I continued hiking.

You probably didn't have much choice anyway--no place to escape it out here. "What the heck" has a way of dissipating once the lightning starts.

There ought to be a means of predicting weather in advance, "forecasting" if you will, so these surprises are avoided. The spirit of what the heck! is admirable, but it does take its casualties.
