After making my way through the brush I performed a brief reconaissance of the
scrambling route, which revealed that some equipment would not be required. Great!
For the boat trip my gear was packed a certain way. To hike up the mesa required
that I re-arrange things to fit my large daypack, which was not big enough to
carry everything at once. Thus I made two trips. The first load was much heavier
than the second. Because of the heavy pack and the route-finding effort, the
first trip took about 70 minutes. The second trip took about 45 minutes.
