Goofy sign

The sign says "Park in designated areas only for the next mile (1.6km)." I passed several
little turn-outs for parking, but not a single one is "designated" for parking (or for
anything else): there are no signs. This is planning and communication of the highest order.

I am very surpirsed to see so many weird comments here about liberty of parking, ahahhahaaaaa ! My dear "com-continentals", provincial government gave you the right to park wherever you want within next 1 mile which is free parking zone, and at your discretion, ahahahahahaaa ! Don't believe me ?! Oh, well... Ask then that guy who is pulling off the turn ahead of Dave on the left !

John, I missed the implied message in your original comment. My picture description and first comment were based on the assumption (dangerous!) that the people making the sign possessed common sense in posting the sign shown here. Chastise me for assuming too much. Now we are presented with new, exciting possibilities for interpreting the highway department's intention. But to be safe, I will pretend that the sign does not exist when I next drive down Potash Road.

If the intention had been to eliminate parking in the next mile, the highway department would have saved itself some trouble by installing a sign that said "No parking for the next mile," and possibly installed "No Parking" signs at the appropriate turn-outs.

As much as I hate to agree with your highway planning department. Nowhere on the sign does it actually say that there are designated parking areas in the next mile.
Translation of sign is, "No Parking in next mile".
