Cannibalized; Due for refurbishment

Nothing is permanent, except for PBase's commitment to its customers. This regional office and
service center in Oregon is shown in a state of decline. It used to be a state-of-the-art
facility, but budget constraints forced a closure. Later, staff from other offices were forced
by equipment shortages to cannibalize it. Now that the economy is on the upswing, this building
is scheduled for complete refurbishment to better serve its customer base. When rehabilitation
is complete, an "after" photo will be added to this gallery.

We have an audience? That's scary....

The last two comments are venturing into sensitive territory. May I remind the audience that some things are better left unsaid: "Dont ask; don't tell."

As for the specific issues raised, I checked the PBase Facility Resourcing Guide---Global for additional information. Paragraph 38 on page 4722 clearly states, "...anything and everything is up for grabs during Grade Three events." This would explain why a busy signal is the only response to phone calls: the auto-switching computer was carted away for use elsewhere.

The problem with uploads cannot be blamed on this facility, as it never performed that function. Please direct your concern elsewhere. Have you read the FAQ at www.whyisthesystemsodamnslow.com?

I believe the phone system did not escape the cannibalization, so no one can call in. Regardless, pbase human resources has made the rather wise decision that since morale is so low anyway, it would be better that employees stay home.

I wish they would hop to it with a little more gusto. I am tired of it taking more than 7 milliseconds for a photo to load up!
There. I feel better now that I have vented.
p.s. I see no one hard at work in this photo. Did they all call in sick? That would explain some things.

Steve, it's good to know that surfers appreciate the positive news I am broadcasting: it gives me a sense of purpose.
As for the refurb schedule, the date for the beginning of the work is TBD (to be determined)

Dave, what an upbeat story. I am so tired of all the negativity these days. I am a little concerned that pbase had not released a target date for completion of the refurbishment, which 1moremile requested back in May. However, I'm sure the "after" photo will really show pbase's commitment to the needs of its customers.

Have they published a target date for rehabilitation completion?
