Directly above my head is a large stain on the cliff and above that a shadowy indentation. The latter is a small bowl caused by erosion and is where two young men from Iowa died in 1995. They most likely reached it by walking down the steep slope to the right, after a cross-country hike involving some rough terrain. The sad story is described in another photo. I hiked to this large shelf in Negro Bill Canyon to get a close-up view of the bowl.
