I really like this, beautiful tranquil colours and the focusing works fine for me too. V
Doug Cruden11-Jan-2010 19:21
That's beautiful! I see what Peter means, but I disagree!! I like the focus fall-off around the central flower, it really keeps the eye on the subject and makes the rest of the image a beautiful dreamy landscape of gorgeous blue petals...excellent shot Lisa, I'm looking forward to the next four days :o)) V

beautiful blue work!
Walter Otto Koenig11-Jan-2010 03:23
I think the depth of field is just fine in this. I don't think macros are as effective with a deep depth of field and anyway you got the focus where it needs to be, perhaps a little crop on the right might be worth trying. All that aside I think it's a beautiful shot with these tones and details. :)
Cindi Smith11-Jan-2010 03:20

Excellent. A nice change to see soft shades and delicate light in a monochrome image! You did a great job with this. I agree about the DOF, could have been slightly larger. Still, I am happy to vote.

Beautiful!V!

Keep up the experimentation Lisa! The 70-200 f2.8 has a lovely OOF signature, although I think a larger DOF, to get the main flower completely in focus might improve. That said, it would have easily effect the rest of the image, with increased focus elsewhere... tough image, the center in focus really holds the eye though.
