of all your shots, this is probably my favourite. althought it's quite common here in Singapore, you made this photo beautiful. love the effect created by the rain. Speechless. Cheers, Ern CHuen

This photo of a garden-variety migrant was shot in practice session in certainly not the most exotic locale - my backyard. Not one of my sharper pics because of the slow shutter speed, it should not have the right to be in this Top 25 list. But oh boy, the background of raindrop trails, the water beads running down the bird's back to drop off its tail, and the bird's skyward stare (as if daring the rainclouds to pour it on) spell out determination and persistence in capital letters. If environment has a strong effect in the mood of a bird pic, this should be a prime example. I like this pic a lot, and the photo of the Barn Swallow in flight has to go to make room for this one.
