I saw this pretty bird in UPCO in Los Banos. It was alone and it flew just a few feet above my head. I was amazed at its magnificent size and beauty. The distinct bluish upperparts and its choco brown underparts grabbed my attention pretty well. Although not much of a bird fan, the sight of this wonderful creature made me stop and watch in awe. I wasnt able to readily identify it, but had an idea somehow that it was a kingfisher, due to my friend Marco who would always show me his collection of bird books. It was only after comparing what i saw with his books and with the pictures here in your blog, which he also introduced me to, that i was able to be proud that what i saw was a "white throated kingfisher".
