Romy,
There is no mistaking that this bird with it's characteristic stance and almost non-existant tail is in genus Pitta. It is an immature bird. The real question is which one? There are three possibles in S Luzon, erythrogaster, kochi and sordida. The Hooded Pitta can be excluded immediately because there is no evident white throat, nor black hood among other things including the non-presence of evident wing bars and greenish cast to the primaries. This appears to me to be immature Pitta erythrogaster. The immature kochi would show an evident malar stripe and evident dark ear coverts. Moreover, this bird shows a hint of the black-white necklace at the throat-breast line that will become evident in the adult and it has a hint of whitish on the throat not found in immature kochi.
