I have attached a link that may be of interest. There is a North American and Canadian Bird Banding program. I have identified a number of Snow Geese that were banded on Bylot Island (northern Canada). They all had yellow neck bands. Osprey and Bald Eagles are banded and have GPS units attached to them to track their migratory route.
I see that this bird has a tag on it's leg. Who tags these birds?

Great website! I have one of those "ponds" by me in Elkridge and there are a couple of these guys and a big blue Heron that live there. I got some GREAt shots of this guy but didn't know what he was but thanks to your site now I know :)
